The holidays are quickly approaching!
This is a special time for everyone, including your furry family members. When preparing for the festivities, it is always important to consider your pets because we often don't realize that they can get sick from the things we take for granted...like the plants that we bring in for the holidays! Mistletoe, Poinsettias and Holly are a few that can be dangerous if consumed. Protect your pet as you start to decorate for the holiday season.

Celebrating the holidays at your house this year?
We want to remind you to keep an eye on the foods your pet eats during this time. Some foods like chocolate or onions can be toxic to your pet, while other fatty foods such as meats and cheeses can cause pancreatitis, a painful GI condition that often requires hospita...lization. To keep your pet safe and healthy, keep hard to resist items out of reach and feed only foods and treats made specifically for him or her. Just a fall reminder from the staff at Blue Sky Animal Hospital.

Pet of the Month
Blue Sky Animal Hospital would like to honor Skye, our clinic cat, as Pet of the Month! Skye was a small, scared, nearly frozen kitten who mysteriously showed up in the practice backyard on a winter morning three years ago. Our caring staff was able to nurse Skye back to health and she has since become a CHABS- a certi...fied human-animal bond specialist. Recently, Skye has retired from our staff and is enjoying a luxurious life at the home of one of our technicians. We thank Skye for being a part of our staff and wish her the best of luck in her retirement!

November Seasonal Tip from Blue Sky Animal Hospital
Just because the leaves are falling doesn’t mean the fleas and ticks have gone. Falling leaves bring jumping fleas that will make your pet’s life miserable until a hard freeze wipes them out. We can recommend remedies to alleviate your pet’s suffering from these pesky critters. Just a fall tip from the staff at Blue Sky Animal Hospital.

November's Employee of the Month
Blue Sky Animal Hospital is proud to honor Sarah Z. , a Certified Veterinary Technician, as November's Employee of the Month.
We thank her for all her contributions to the practice.
We thank her for all her contributions to the practice.
After graduating from Purdue University with a BS in Management, Sarah decided to follow her heart and pursue a career in veterinary medicine. She graduated from Argosy University with an AAS degree and passed her licensing exams to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. For the past five years, Sarah’s attention to detail has made her a great technician as well as an excellent OSHA officer for Blue Sky.
Sarah and her husband spend much of their free time training their energetic young yellow lab pup “Gator” in the fine art of retrieving. In addition to waterfowl and upland bird hunting, Sarah is a self-described football (college and pro) fanatic and enjoys bicycling, gardening, cooking and eating out.
Originally from Ohio, being married to a now-retired naval officer has given Sarah the opportunity to reside in ten states. Despite how well they have adapted to Minnesota Sarah and her husband hope to retire to their favorite locale–Louisiana.
We thank her for all her contributions to the practice.
